Ruth Ann (West) Henderson

Ruth Ann (West) Henderson of Valparaiso, IN, age 83 passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2023. Ruth was born on July 4, 1940 in Owosso, Michigan to parents George and Gladys (Childs) West. On February 11, 1960 she married Lowell Henderson in Wheeler, Indiana and settled in this area due to Lowell being in the Army and stationed at the NIKE Base in Wheeler. She is survived by her two sons: John Henderson and Timothy (Cathy) Henderson, grandchildren: Josh (Amy) and Megan and Timothy, great grandchildren: Abby, Delilah and Addyson; also her sister Mary of Michigan and brother Dave (Elizabeth) of Germany, along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lowell and brothers Lee, Nathan and John. Ruth was retired from Valparaiso School System after 24 years and 6 years of that was spent as a supervisor in the Custodial Department at the high school. Ruth was a member of Crossroads Family Church in Portage, Indiana. Visitation for Ruth will be held Friday, October 20, 2023, 11:00 am until time of Funeral Service at 1: 00 pm at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St, Valparaiso, Pastor Norm Pennington officiating. Entombment will be in Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Association.
