Scott Short

Scott  D. Short, 58, of Valparaiso, passed away on June 10, 2023, in Hobart, Indiana.  He was born on December 23, 1964 in Valparaiso, to Jack C. and Shirley A. (Montoney) Short.  On April 17, 1999 Scott Married Brenda Cole, who survives him.  Scott worked for most of his life as a farmer on the family farm and also worked for the Valparaiso Street Department as a light equipment operator and truck driver.  Some of his favorite activities were tractor pulls and spending time fishing.  Scott was always quick with a joke. He is survived by 2 step-sons, Christopher Cole and Bryan (Stacey) Cole of Lake Station; brother Greg (Wendy) Short of Valparaiso, niece Amy (Chris) Hughes of Union Mills, and 6 step-grandchildren.  A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, from 2:00-5:30 PM with a memorial service starting at 5:30 PM.  In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
