Victoria "Vicki" (Krysa) Foster

Victoria “Vicki” Melaine Foster (nee Krysa), 73, of Valparaiso, passed away peacefully in her husband’s arms on Friday, June 9, 2023.  She was born September 19, 1949 in Chicago, Illinois to Mildred (Mondala) and Mitchell Krysa.  She grew up with her beloved brothers Stan Krysa and Tom (Lori) Krysa, who survive in Valparaiso.  On April 15, 1977, Vicki married her husband Michael Foster, who survives in Valparaiso. Vicki was dedicated to her family and loved to care for them through Polish cooking, hosting family parties, and gift giving.  She was a loving mother to Helen Foster of Fort Wayne, Andrew Foster of LaPorte, Alice (Michael) Peregrim of Zionsville, and Mary (David) Foster of Valparaiso.  She adored her five grandchildren Leah, Anna, James, Ben, and Ashton.  Vicki was a veterinary technician at Morthland Animal Clinic for many years.  She planted over 50 trees and had many flower gardens at her home, which she took much pride in caring for.  Vicki loved watching terrible horror movies with her brothers and children.  She was an avid reader, teaching all of her children to read before they went to school, and reading multiple books at a time.  Vicki loved Christmas, and every year she put up over 25 Christmas trees in her home.  She was caregiver to many, and loved by even more.  Vicki was preceded in death by her daughter Elizabeth Rose Foster, and her parents.  Visitation will be held Monday, June 12, 2023 from 3-7 PM with a Wake Service at 5 PM at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St., Valparaiso.   Tuesday, June 13, 2023, visitation will be held from 9-10 AM with Funeral Mass at 10 AM at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1855 W. Harrison Blvd., Valparaiso with Rev. Douglas Mayer officiating.  Burial will be in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery,  Valparaiso.  www.bartholomewnewhard.com
