Gary W. Thomas, 55, of Wheeler, passed away on November 11, 2016 in Wheeler.  He was born on July 24, 1961 in Chicago, to Larry and JoAnne (Walksmit) Thomas.  Gary worked his entire life as an electrician.  He was a long-time member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #502. 

He is survived by: his mother JoAnne Thomas; children Catherine (Devin) Crawford of Valparaiso, Brian (Amanda) Thomas of New Chicago; siblings Ron Thomas of Kentucky, Brenda (Kent) Thomas of Hebron, Jeff (Joan) Thomas of Kentucky, Ed Thomas of Kentucky, Tim Thomas of Kentucky, and Glenn (Sandy) Thomas of Lake Station.  He is also survived by; his grandchildren Julianna Allison, Ryker Thomas, Razalynn Thomas; life-long friends Brian Pape, Jeff Standley, Arjen Byvoets, and many nieces and nephews.  Gary was preceded in death by his father Larry Thomas.

The family will be having a memorial service at a later date.
