Charlene Ann Asher, 83 of Valparaiso, passed away Monday, May 29, 2017. She was born April 25, 1934 in Valparaiso, the daughter of Walter Henry “Jerry” and Edna Mae (Spencer) Meadows. Charlene worked in the accounting department at McGill’s and Indiana General. She was a member of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary and the First United Methodist Church in Valparaiso. Surviving is her son Louis (Diana) Asher, Jr. of Valparaiso, her daughter, Kathleen (Tom) Strominski of Valparaiso, 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a sister Betty Nelson of Valparaiso. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Asher, Sr. in 2014 and her parents. Private Family Services will be held for Charlene. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th fl, New York, NY 10001, in memory of Charlene Asher.
